Plan to live in Turkey with a language course permit? Learn the 4 steps, required documents & the visa rule most applicants miss. Full 2026 guide for foreigners in Turkey.

Planning to live in Turkey through a language course? Here is the full step by step process for the Turkish language course residence permit, including the rules most applicants miss.
The Turkish language course residence permit is one of the most positively evaluated permits by the immigration office, but there is one rule that catches a lot of people off guard: you must enter Turkey with a Turkish language course visa. Without it, your application will be rejected automatically.
Steps covered in this video:
Step 1: Contact a Turkish language course school and get an invitation
Step 2: Apply for a Turkish language course visa at the Turkish Embassy in your country (you will need a flight reservation, hotel booking, and a student letter from the school)
Step 3: Travel to Turkey and apply for the residence permit. Required documents include your enrollment confirmation, student letter, residence permit health insurance, paid residence permit tax, and an authorized rent contract to prove your address
Step 4: Submit everything to the immigration office and wait for the evaluation. If approved, your residence permit card will be sent to your address by post
