3. What are the most popular cities in Turkey for digital nomads?

4. Do digital nomads need a special visa to enter Turkey?
Yes special Turkish digital nomad visa is required. Many nationalities can enter Turkey visa-free or with an e-visa valid for up to 90 days. For longer stays, digital nomads should apply for a digital nomad residence permit card from within Turkey or from consulates. 6. Can digital nomads open a bank account or get a local SIM card in Turkey?
Yes, with a valid residence permit and a Turkish tax number, digital nomads can open a local bank account. This makes it easier to manage living expenses, pay rent, and receive international transfers. Getting a local SIM card is also simple and can be done with just a passport, though a residence permit is required for long-term service plans.
7. What are the tax implications for digital nomads living in Turkey?
Digital nomads working for foreign employers or clients are generally not taxed in Turkey if their income is sourced entirely from abroad and they are not considered tax residents (i.e., they spend less than 183 days in Turkey within a calendar year). However, tax laws can be complex, and nomads staying long-term should consult with a local tax advisor to ensure compliance and explore options if they intend to register a business or become a resident.
